Anime Travel 9 – Just Because! in Real Life

Shonan Monorail

Let's continue with another anime post! This time, I would like to share the place for yet another bitter-sweet anime called Just Because! I don't think this anime was as popular as the other anime I posted before but I really liked the story so I decided to also visit and post this anime pilgrimage.

The setting was located around Kamakura City, Kanagawa which shared the same locations with Rascals Does Not Dream which I plan to also write after this post. This area are located around 45 mins away from Tokyo station with JR Ueno Tokyo Line.

We can find the iconic Shōnan monorail throughout the anime which we can use to explore the Shōnan area between Ōfuna and Enoshima.

1. JR Ōfuna Station

The first location that I visited was the JR Ōfuna Station. I took the train in early morning from Tokyo Station with JR Ueno Tokyo Line. I took some photos here, then transfer to the Shōnan Monorail.

2. Shōnan Fukasawa Station

Next, I visited the Shōnan Fukasawa Station which is three stations away from Ōfuna Station. This is the monorail station where we can find the real location shown in the above banner.

3. Around Fukasawa Elementary School

From the station, I walked for like 10 minutes to the nearby elementary school where I found some spot shown in the anime.

4. Kajiwara Mitama Shrine

Behind the elementary school, I walked into a shrine called Kajiwara Mitama shrine.

5. Seven Eleven & Kamakura Tokiwa Shop

Next, I moved to the nearby Seven Eleven which took another 5 minutes by foot. This is located at the main street. We can also find some scene using this location as inspiration.

6. Around Gourmet City

If we follow the main road, we will find a local grocery by the name of Gourmet City which also can be often seen in the anime.

7. Katase-Enoshima Station

After finish exploring around the Fukasawa area, I moved straight into Enoshima area. I walked into Odakyu Katase-Enoshima Station with its famous oriental style architecture.

If we walk to the east following the main road, we can find an aquarium. This place can also be found in the anime.

9. Fujisawa Station

The last spot that I visited for this anime was the JR Fujisawa Station. I took the legendary Enoden train from Enoshima St. to Fujisawa St.
